Simeon Tienpont


Simeon took over as CEO of the DGR Group of companies from his father André in 2019. Simeon is a qualified engineer, business administrator and professional sportsman, who leads the DGR Group of companies with his trademark infectious enthusiasm in a professional and energetic manner. From his prestigious career in professional sailing, he has distinguished himself as a founder and skipper of international sailing campaigns, successfully representing his stakeholders and their investments. His talents lie in the formation, management and support of diverse teams to attain exceptional results. His passion for the marine industry and the international shipbuilding market started at an
early age with family discussions around the kitchen table. This made for a seamless transition from a career in professional sailing to taking the helm of the DGR family business.

Halyna Rusnak


As a business economist, accountant and financial controller, Halyna joined DGR in 2019 and works closely with Simeon, managing the finances for DGR. Born in the Ukraine, Halyna has lived in the Netherlands for more than 25 years, where she studied and built a very successful career in financial management. For several years she was responsible for financial management at large multinationals in the shipbuilding and oil and gas industries. With her Eastern European background and network, Halyna provides a strategic role within DGR for market expansion in the Eastern European maritime markets.

Kate Mullord

Corporate Finance

Kate has nearly 20 years of experience in corporate finance and strategy, working with a variety of companies globally, covering sectors from financial services to FMCG and healthcare.

Kate’s career began as an M&A adviser at UBS in Johannesburg and Goldman Sachs in London. Thereafter, she moved to Duke Street Capital, amid-market private equity fund based in London, where, as an investment manager, Kate was involved with sourcing new deals, structuring transactions and sitting on the board of investee companies.

More recently, Kate shifted direction to work within operating companies, initially providing strategy support to the Exco of Woolworths, a listed South African retailer. Thereafter, Kate took on fundraising and strategic partnerships at Jumo World, an Africa focused, early stage and fast growing fintech.

Kate is British/South African and new to the Netherlands. She joined DGR in 2020 and is making use of her passion for growing businesses to support the ambitious growth plans of the group.

Eva Straatmans

Office Manager

Eva supports De Goede Ree as Office Manager, responsible for the office and financial administration. Eva’s background is in healthcare and she holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing. After several years of working as a nurse, she became curious about business administration, followed various MBA classes to increase her knowledge, and in 2012 had the opportunity to join De Goede Ree as Office Manager.

In 2013 Eva started working at De Goede Ree full-time and was responsible for the financial administration of the holding company. In 2015, she took responsibility for initiating Spoker B.V. one of the subsidiaries within the group. In 2018, Eva returned to healthcare, joining the ADRZ-hospital as team leader of the Acute Admission Center and Physiotherapists, continuing to use her strong operational capabilities as part-time office manager and financial administrator for DGR.


Steven Lubbers

DGR Chairman Supervisory Board

Steven joined DGR as Chair of Supervisory Board in 2017. In addition to supervision, Steven is actively involved as an advisor to DGR on new investment opportunities, acquisition and business strategy. Steven is currently CEO of Hollandia Corporate and Partner at Smart Capital Network, which supports
entrepreneurs in their startup, growth, maturation and exit activities.
He brings extensive international experience in management at multinationals, large companies, family businesses and project organizations. DGR is fortunate to benefit from Steven’s network, knowledge and experience.

René Berkvens

DGR Supervisory Board

Rene was the CEO of Damen Shipyards for 13 years, from 2006 to 2019, and now joins DGR to support the expansion strategy and participate on the investment committee.

A maritime engineer by training, Rene started at Damen in sales in Africa and later in America.

He managed Damen Shipyards Gorinchem (workboats) from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2004 he was director of the Koninklijke Schelde, the first defence vessel builder in the Netherlands to be taken over by Damen Shipyards Group from the Dutch government. During the same period, he was also responsible for mega yacht building and ship repair activities of Damen Shipyards.

Rene’s career in shipbuilding and his experience in the maritime sector is a considerable asset to the DGR team.

André Tienpont

DGR Senior Advisor

Leveraging over 45 years of experience in management and investment in the marine industry, André established DGR in 2003. Early in his career, André played a key role in large-scale reorganisations and the successful turnaround of a large Rotterdam shipyard. From there, André built a prestigious career as CEO of various conglomerates, mostly in the maritime or civil sector. One specific period worth highlighting is André’s experience as CEO of Central Industry Group (CIG). From 1988, over a period of 15 years, he managed the portfolio of 14 subsidiaries, transforming the group into a focused and commercially successful enterprise. Specifically, he led a successful change in strategy away from shipbuilding, towards engineering and marine supply chain, whilst simultaneously growing the group’s international operations. This experience remains highly relevant and formed the basis of the strategy for DGR.

André is a qualified naval architect and business economist, and with his experience and broad international network, he is widely known for his strategic and business development acumen in the marine sector. As senior advisor, André remains involved in the DGR group activities, including acting as a solid sparring partner for management.

Terry F. van Velzen

DGR Supervisory Board

Terry is actively involved with DGR as an advisor on international trends in the shipbuilding market and technical innovations. Terry is currently Managing Director at Praxis Automation Technology, one of the largest global suppliers of automation, navigation and electric propulsion systems for sea-going vessels. He brings extensive experience in developing and managing large projects in the shipbuilding (BMA Technology and Imtech Marine) and aircraft industries (Fokker Aircraft).
